25,000Lb Electric Motor Truck Winch

Designed and built for clients running larger, heavier, fully loaded trucks like the Mitsubishi Canters and NPS, Iveco's, Unimogs and MAN. Ideal for 4x4, touring and difficult recoveries. The Stallion winches are IP68 rated.

  • Sherpa have been been designing and building winches for many years and what makes them different from others is that they listen to customer requests and feedback and continually look to improve. Customers with large trucks have been looking for economically viable, stronger electric winches to remove the dependence on hydraulic solutions and Sherpa has now delivered.

Whilst this winch is name plated at 25,000 lb, it's true capacity far exceeds this and it achieves over 30,000 lb pulling power before other components start reaching their design limits. Sherpa take an over-engineered and conservative approach to design which ensures their winches perform and are not operating on their limits.

The Stallion has a brand new heavy duty 8.9 hp electric motor combined with a new gearbox ratio. Upgraded bushes help this winch to perform under the high demands and stresses of heavy vehicle recovery. As with all Sherpa winches, the Stallion comes with a genuine Albright International solenoid pack ensuring it's waterproof and the most reliable on the market.

Available with 30m of 12mm synthetic rope (rated to 31,000 lb) or 12mm steel cable (rated to 30,000 lb) in 12V or 24V, there's a solution for a range of popular trucks on the market.

Why are Sherpa winches different to the competition?

    • Tried and Tested - Sherpa 4x4 winches have been designed and built with many years experience in the winching and lifting business. These winches have been through many stages of testing and improvements to deliver a product Sherpa 4x4 is proud to offer to the public. Proven performers under water in the muddiest rain forests on the planet recovering ladened trucks to safety. Sealed to water and mud ingress, they perform reliably in the toughest outback conditions.
    • Tough & Durable - The winch is designed to survive in all conditions, with 316 stainless steel componentry and machined aluminum mounts, this winch will stand up to all environments.
    • Braking Design - Beware of cheap imitations! Many winches on the market use the old cable winch ‘Brake in drum’ design which causes heat to build up in the winch damaging synthetic rope. ‘Brake in Drum’ winches were never intended for use with synthetic ropes and this will become obvious at the most inconvenient time. Sherpa winches are compatible with all types of synthetic rope as the brake is designed into the gearbox. This innovative design results in a trouble and heat free winch and braking combination.
    • Quality gearboxes - Other brands use sintered steel to make their gears. In this process heat and pressure is used to cast shapes from powdered steel. Sintered gears are unpredictable and not as strong as gears that are CNC cut from quality billet steel. Sherpa demand the highest quality components for every step of the winch build meaning they deliver stronger winches that last. New higher load brass bushes are incorporated into the Stallion's gearbox to handle the increased loads.
    • Electrics - Sherpa 4x4 winches come standard with fully sealed, water tight, heavy duty, genuine Albright solenoids. A common failure for winches is the solenoid so why use anything but the best? Sherpa only offer Albright solenoids across our complete range of winches because they work. Don't waste your time with imitations, demand the best and enjoy the performance. All Sherpa winches are IP68 rated.
    • Powerful- Sherpa 4x4 winches come with massive series wound motors featuring higher amounts of copper in the winding's then others. By specifying the best motors across the entire winch range, you are ensured a more durable winch which can withstand the extreme conditions recovery brings. The Stallion has the new 8.9 hp motor which produces increased torque at lower temperatures meaning you can winch for longer under higher loads. This new motor allows Sherpa to move into new performance figures never seen before.
    • Simplicity - Sherpa 4x4 winches are supplied with the parts and materials making installation easy for the home mechanic. Included is all mounting hardware to fit your winch and control box to the bar. Note, the Stallion winch is larger then common winches and users are recommended to check the measurements against their bar before purchasing. Fitment issues with some bars are known to exist.
    • Fair leads & Hawse - Depending on if you're after the synthetic rope or the steel cable a 4 roller fairlead or aluminium hawse will be supplied. An offset aluminium hawse can also be supplied on request.
    • Warranty and Parts - Sherpa 4x4 offers a 5 Year warranty on the Stallion winches. An economical range of spares are always available for existing Sherpa customers.

    Albright Winch Solenoid

    Genuine Albright Solenoids

All Sherpa 4x4 winches come with genuine Albright solenoids! Incorporated into the electrics is a custom made version of the DC88P solenoid designed specifically by Albright International for the Sherpa 4x4 control boxes. With 70 years experienced in contactor design, these are by far the best winch solenoids available. Capable of handling up to 800 amps, almost twice the maximum capacity of the winch. Contact plating is second to none, increasing the duty cycle over other winches. As seen in our water submersion testing videos the Albright solenoids can be run for significant time under water without moisture ingress. The cheap Chinese solenoids used in the majority of winches will fail under extreme conditions and under high amperage load.

-Control box mounting brackets (In most cases the control box is flush mounted to the bulbar using bolts internal to the control box housing and DOES NOT require a bracket. See the winch manual on the Sherpa Data Sheets page for instructions on mounting. The brackets included allow you to mount the control box directly on top of the winch by attaching to the winch cross members).

    Optional & Recommended Extras:

Sherpa provides a range of optional and recommended extras you may want to consider when buying a winch. You can order these using the tick box options near the 'Add to Cart' button. For full details on each item. See the Sherpa 4WD Accessories page.

Sherpa highly recommends the use of a winch dampener with all winches but it is essential with steel cable winches. It is best practice to use a battery isolation switch. This will make sure that nobody can interfere with your winch by crossing terminals on your winch or control box. This will also prevent shorting / sparking if the positive power cable were to be crushed and earthed in a collision.

Best winch in the World! Sherpa winches are superior to Warn and Smittybilt. "Read This Review"

My name is John, I own a tow company (SandTow) in Daytona Beach Florida. We have the county contract and are the only company in the county authorized to do Beach Auto Recovery. We recover hundreds of vehicles out of the sand every very.
I have owned alot of different brands of winches in my time pulling vehicles out of the sand. Then I purchased my first Sherpa winch.
We now have a Sherpa Stallion on all three of our tow trucks. Let me tell you why1
These winches are make from top quality materials and take a beating like no other!
Sometimes we have to move large truck that are framed out in the sand (Like Ford F350"s). Before owning a Sherpa winch we would have winch failure under the stress of the heavy pull. Let me be clear we have NEVER had a Sherpa winch fail to pull the load! seriously, We have pulled motorhomes off the beach and the Sherpa Stallion just does not quit!
Let me take a moment to talk about Sherpa customer service. It is outstanding! Even though I am on the other side of the world, the staff at Sherpa are always there, with a quick response and solution. They priority ship all the product that I order. it is literally here in just days. Regardless of who you speak with, they have that Aussie charm and are alway a pleasure to speak with. Again, most important, they are fast with a response and "Spot On" when is comes to solving a problem.
Again we do HOUNDREDS of vehicle recoveries a year with our Sherpa winches and the always come thru for us.
I not only recommend the Sherpa Stallion, I would not be able to do my business without them!!!!!

Pulls like a Horse

I have this winch in my cruiser, first use come across a transit van on 4wd drive track where it should not have been. It got stuck, this winch pulled the van out which was not budging prior. It’s given me the confidence after seeing it pull this van out it will pull both my cruiser and van out if I’m ever in the need.
This winch is proof aussie is still built tough!

Best winch made... Period!!!

I own a company that pulls cars out of the sand on Daytona Beach in Florida. My trucks ONLY have Sherpa Stallion winches on them. I have owned Warn and Smittybilt. they don't hold a candle to the Stallion. I am in situations where I have to pull a very large heavy Dually, like a Ford F350 that is stuck to it's rails in the sand. The Sherpa can pull the darn thing sideways!
If you want to have the best winch, that can handle the elements. Sherpa is it. they are the OG! I have mine on the beach in salt weather every day and they outlast any competitor hands down.
You can see the winch in action on Youtube, Instagram and TikTok, just type in - Sandtow
